21 May 2010 - May meeting minutes

12 May 2010 - Gilman Township opens all town roads

On May 12th, 2010, the Gilman town board voted to open all town roads to ATV travel. Please remember that the roads are not officially open until they have been properly signed as ATV Routes. The PCAA will be working to get the signs put up as soon as possible.

2 May 2010 - New Pierce County ATV Route connections

Pierce County residents now have an ATV route from eastern Spring Lake township (just east of the village of Spring Valley) to Clear Lake, WI. This gives us access to the Cattail State Trail which leads to Cumberland, Amery, Turtle Lake, and Almena. Routes from the Cattail lead to Barron, Dallas, Prairie Farm, and Camron.

17 April 2010 - PCAA Brunch Fund-raiser

For the second year in a row the PCAA held a Sunday brunch fund-raiser in conjunction with the River Falls Moose Lodge on April 11th. Ticket sales resulted in $596 being raised for the PCAA and $524 being raised for the Moose Lodge. Special thanks to Dick Wall for organizing the ticket sales as well as selling 48 tickets himself and to Paul Stelter for selling 29.

29 December 2009 - Minnesota non-resident ATV trail pass

Beginning January 1, 2010 non-residents operating an ATV on Minnesota state or grant-in-aid trails must possess a trail pass. The trail pass does not need to be displayed on the machine, but must be available for inspection when requested by an officer. The pass is required regardless of the registration status of the machine, and whether registered in Minnesota or another state.

Non-residents do NOT need a pass if operating on a portion of an ATV trail that is owned by the person or the person’s spouse, child, or parent.

7 July 2009 - Union township closes ATV Routes

The Union Town Board voted to rescind the ordinance passed in June which had opened town roads to ATV travel.

12 June 2009 - Union township opens ATV Routes

The Union Town Board voted to open all town roads in Union township to ATV traffic on a 6 month trial basis. The PCAA is working to get signing in place as quickly is possible. Note that the roads are NOT open to ATV travel until they are properly signed as ATV Routes.

10 May 2009 - May club ride in Clark County

A group of 7 people, including several PCAA members, rode the trails of Clark County, WI, on May 9th. Pictures from the ride are on the Pics page.

21 February 2009 - Clark County ATV trails reopened

The Clark County ATV trails were reopened by the Clark County Forestry and Parks department at 8:00am on February 21st. Updates can be found on the Clark County Forestry and Parks Recreational Trail Updates page.

09 February 2009 - Clark County ATV trails closed

Due to wet conditions the Clark County Forestry and Parks department has closed the entire Clark County snowmobile and ATV trail system until further notice. Updates can be found on the Clark County Forestry and Parks Recreational Trail Updates page.

25 January 2009 - ATV Safety Certification class

On Saturday, January 24, 2009, 29 students successfully completed a WI DNR ATV Safety course in Ellsworth, WI. The course was taught by ATV Safety Instructors Scott Jones, Kim Greske, Darren Place, and Eric Markwardt from the PCAA. Special thanks go out to the Ellsworth American Legion for the use of their facilities for this training, to 61 Marine & Sports for donating the use of 2 new Polaris ATVs for the hands-on portion of the class, and to Clark Goodwin, PCAA Training Coordinator, for arranging and assisting with the class.
