As of June, 2008, a limited number of Townships in Pierce County have approved the use of ATVs on town roads as detailed below. ATVs are NOT permitted on any US highways (e.g., US 10 or US 63), Wisconsin State highways (e.g., Hwy 29, Hwy 72, or Hwy 128), or Pierce County highways (e.g., Cty B, Cty C, Cty P, etc).
ATVs are also NOT permitted on township roads which have not been signed as designated ATV Routes or ATV Route Access roads.
Please observe these restrictions or the priviledge to ride on these roads will be revoked.
A downloadable map of the ATV Routes in NE Pierce County (680KB) is now available. As more routes and trails are finalized the PCAA will be working on getting a printed map distributed and available through our business sponsors around the county.
In Ellsworth Township ATVs are permitted on 450th Ave, 610th St, and 570th Ave
west of 610th St to the border with the Village of Ellsworth. All other town roads may
be used ONLY by township residents who wish to access the routes
designated above.
Gilman township has approved a corridor for ATVs between Martell and Spring Lake
townships. ATVs will be allowed ONLY on 770th Ave from the border
with Martell township
east to 750th Ave, east on 750th to 410th St, south on 410th to 690th St, and then
east on 690th to Olivet and the border with Spring Lake township. Similar to Spring
Lake township, this will be on a trial basis until September 30, 2008.
The Martell Town Board has approved the use of ATVs on all town roads, excluding
dead-ends and driveways. Dead-ends may be used only by town residents and only to
access designated routes. Note that as of mid-June, 2008, Martell town roads are
NOT yet signed and are thus NOT legal to ride on. The PCAA will be putting up
signs over the next 2-3 weeks.
The Spring Lake Town Board has approved the use of ATVs on all town roads, excluding
dead-ends and driveways. Dead-ends may be used only by town residents and only to
access designated routes. ATVs are being permitted on Spring Lake town roads on a
trial basis from May 15, 2008, to September 30, 2008, after which the town board
will reevaluate things.
The Trimbelle Town Board has approved the use of ATVs on all town roads, excluding
dead-ends and driveways. Dead-ends may be used only by town residents and only to
access designated routes..
The Village of Spring Valley has approved a limited number of ATV routes into town so that ATV riders can access local businesses for food and gas. Additional information on these routes will be posted in the near future.
